Buckeye DOB: Est. 2003

Buckeye is a half llama/half alpaca gelding who was born to the research herd at the Ohio State University and subsequently offered for sale to benefit the International Camelid Institute. He was purchased and then sold twice prior to his being surrendered to SELR.

Buck is a little hard to halter and handle but leads well and will load willingly into a trailer. He cannot be put in with female llamas or alpacas because he will mount them. He has not bothered goats so he may work out as a guard for sheep or goats, but other male llamas would be ideal.

Buck really enjoys life as exhibited in his behavior. He delights in dinner, plays with gusto, and sleep is pure bliss.

Having had five homes in as many years, Buck is weary of moving and is ready to settle down and provide a loving family with a loving companion.

P.S. - Buck is a bit foamy in this picture, having just enjoyed a dose of SafeGuard!!
