Candy Kimmes, the heart behind Midwest Farm Animal Rescue a registered 501c3 non profit organization in Mondovi, WI wrote to Southeast Llama Rescue for guidance and support of her newest and most tragic rescue- Miss Lilly. After leaving the surrendering farm, Candy immediately took Lilly to the University of MN for treatment. They were forced to amputate Lilly's rear leg. There was no hope in saving it, for the trauma she endured was too great. Lilly has a strong spirit and is fighting to survive. Candy has set up a blog for Lilly for all of us to follow their story and figure out how we all can help them. Whether that be through neighboring assitance or monetary donation to the cause of aiding Lilly survive her terrible accident. Candy is working with Lilly night and day doing everything she can, but needs our help. Please take time to read her story here: http://lillyllama.blogspot.com/2009/05/lillys-rescue-story.html She has also set up a fundraising page for Lilly here: http://www.fundable.com/groupactions/groupaction.2009-05-24.4169187704 If you would rather donate funds directly to the University where Lilly had her amputation surgery, please use the address below: The University of MN Large Animal
